Tools + Skill-sets: manufacturing, sales, marketing, rapid prototyping and testing


Shift is a pencil case that transforms into a pencil holder. The user can pick between two forms to easily display and access writing tools. Shift sold out in the first ten minutes of Georgia Tech’s 2014 Make10 event, an annual event where students design and product a limited run of 10 products for sale.

  • Experimented with leather, felt, fabric, polypropylene, and plywood

  • Used magnets instead of velcro to achieve smoother folding transitions

  • Creased polypropylene using a laser cutter
